![]() ![]() After several failed attempts I realised that SIP had been active in the beta I'd installed, the only difference being that I'd booted back into Mavericks to make changes to it's base system. ![]() Not so fast! The /System/Library/CoreServices directory is listed in nf and is solely accessible by "booter". As soon as the new installation restarted and began asking setup questions I restarted back into the MBP's main partition to modify the ist and create a disk image of the fresh installation. I'd already updated my MacBook Pro to El Capitan when I set about creating a fresh installation on a smaller 12 GB partition I'd calved from it's SSD. It wasn't all smooth sailing though - I did run into the new System Integrity Protection during the installation process, but eventually got around it easily enough. I hadn't perceived any lag in the beta but the instantaneous menu and window redraws are noticeably quicker in the release. I thought I'd report back that the final release is up and running on my Xserve2,1. ![]()
